Festivals & Events - the town hosts many year round events. Here’s a sample: Seaside...And All That Jazz; 4th of July Celebration; Hood to Coast (200 mile relay run from Mt. Hood to Seaside); National Beach Volleyball Tournament; Sand Castle Sculptures (Cannon Beach); Kite Competitions; & Yuletide at Seaside.Canoe or Kayak - right from the house on the calm waters of the Necanicum River. Canoes and sea kayaks are available to rent right next door.Biking - all types can be rented or bring your own and ride the 2 mile ocean promenade or mountain bike the trails.Shopping - Broadway (9 blocks) features locally owned shops, galleries, bookstores, antiques, arcades & many cafes. Seaside Outlet Shops and Cinema are 3 blocks away. Hiking - there are a number of hiking trails in the area including the designated National Wild and Scenic Tillamook Head Trail. This 8 mile trail cascades high above the ocean from Seaside to Cannon Beach, through old growth forests, to secluded beaches and coves. Or explore the Necanicum Estuary, just a few blocks from the house, where the river meets the ocean and home to many birds and marine life.
